Joseph Gembala received an undergraduate degree in Finance from LaSalle University in 1980, an M.B.A. in Finance and Management from the same school in 1982, and his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 1985. He has taught Business Law as an adjunct professor at LaSalle since 1992. This thorough grounding in finance and business enables him to provide knowledgeable advice to business and tax clients from a practical perspective.

At various times since establishing his own practice, Joseph Gembala has also served as an arbitrator in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas and the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He has also served as a Master in the Family Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
